Quality Circle Forum of India, Hyderabad Chapter was formed on 13th September-1986 and was inaugurated by Dr. N.T. Rama Rao, the then Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. Well known, multifaceted technocrat, Dr. V.Krisha Murthy, former CMD of BHEL, former Chairman of SAIL, former Secretary, Heavy Industry, Govt. of India in his keynote address on the occasion emphasized that unless all industries adopted a Total Quality approach, it may not be possible for our Indian Industries to achieve level of quality and excellence the Japanese have achieved since their World War – II devastation.

In his welcome address, Sri P.S. Rama Mohan Rao - IPS (Retd.) Chairman of the chapter (1986-1994) said that Quality Circle promotion has to be carried out on a continuous basis and many organisations have supported the move. He said that quality and quality control are as essential in Govt. administration, as much as it is needed for industry and other services.

Practice of Quality Circles can change the collective conscience and work ethics of Indian people from one of “getting along” to one of “excelling and beating the rest of world”.

Positioned QC concept for wider propagation by involving public personalities and professional while reaching the grass root people.

Spread the wings of QCs into service sector like health care, financial institutions, educational institution like schools, colleges and conducted seminars in the respective fields, as a result, SBH, SBI and Canara Bank are effective practitioners of Quality Circles.

Introduction of Quality Circles in schools started from Hyderabad Public School, a prestigious education institution and secretary school education Sri I.V. Subba Rao, was Chief Guest who appreciated the concept promised cooperation.

Books on Quality Circles were translated into Telugu and published in Telugu and were released in May-2006.

Number of QC teams participating in annual conventions has progressively increased from 50-60 teams to 150 teams in recent conventions. This is an indication of catching up of Quality movement with organizations.

Under the Chairmanship of Sri.Balakrishna Rao, a souvenir was released with a title "Quest for Quality" - An unending journey towards execellence by then Hon'ble Chief Minister Y.S.Rajasekhar Reddy.

A number of promotional programs for propagation of Quality Circles in the industrial sector, education sector, have been conducted, National Convention on Quality Circles (NCQC) was hosted by QCFI Hyderabad Chapter in 2011 where no. of QC team participated has crossed the limit of 1000 teams which was a record in itself.

Silver Jubilee celebration was conducted in 2011 at Jubilee Hall wherein Sri E.S.L. Narasimhan, Governor of Andhra Pradesh was Chief Guest and Sri.P.S.Ramamohan Rao founder chairman of Hyderabad Chapter was the keynote speaker. CEO’s from various industries and organization in and around Hyderabad attended and a souvenir titled "25 Inspiring Years - In Pursuit of excellence " was released on the occasion.

Hyderabad Chapter Convention (CCQC-2013) on Quality Circle is being conducted from September 12th & 13th - 2013 at Hyderabad.

In 2014 CCQC Hyderabad Chapter Convention was inaugurated by the Hon'ble Minister K.T.Rama Rao.
